Bringing joy to sacred routines
You have your favorite beverage vessels that you love for one reason or another: a memory of where you got it or the person that gave it to you, you appreciate how it was made, or how it feels to hold. The thought of something I lovingly make by hand being a part of your life really warms my heart. Ceramics merges my love of design, functionality, and being able to make things by hand.
My ceramics can be found in my shop, or if you’re local to the DMV area: at Shop Made in DC or Pyramid Atlantic! Shopping via all of these will make you feel good about shopping small, shopping local, and supporting artists. So I can confirm that it is true: every time you purchase a piece of art, the maker does actually do a happy dance!
Just as important as your own morning tea or coffee (or your afternoon brewski), are the objects you use in order to share with others. Why not serve on something a little more interesting and fun, something with a real story and person behind it?!
All of my work is built from slabs of clay (not thrown on a wheel), and decorated by hand. (Yes, the dots on those mugs are painted one by one, with a tiny brush!)
